Meaning of Ninja
A ninja, also known as a shinobi, was a covert agent or mercenary in feudal Japan. Ninjas were known for their skills in espionage, stealth, sabotage, infiltration, and sometimes assassination. Unlike samurai, who followed a strict code of honor called Bushido, ninjas often worked in secret and used unconventional tactics to complete their missions.
They were trained in martial arts, disguise, survival skills, and the use of special tools such as shuriken (throwing stars), smoke bombs, and grappling hooks. Ninjas played an important role during times of war and political conflict, especially in the Sengoku period (15th–17th century).
Today, ninjas are a famous symbol of Japanese culture and often appear in movies, anime, games, and pop culture around the world.
